Tuition and Travel Insurance

We are requiring a Travel Medical that covers SCUBA Diving and recommending a Tuition Insurance to protect your investment.

We are going to express this in stark language. If after February 1, 2023, you cancel or decide your child cannot attend, you will lose your initial and secondary deposit payment. If after April 1, 2023, you cancel or decide your child can not attend, you will lose their entire tuition payment.
Odyssey Expeditions will hold firm to this cancellation policy.

Student Deluxe - from TravMark, helps protect your investment in your child's summer voyage experience. It fulfills an entry requirement for our destinations by covering the cost of international COVID-19 treatment and quarantine. Odyssey Expeditions tuition becomes non-refundable after certain deadlines, but these protection plans supply a variety of levels of coverage should you need to cancel your enrollment for a reason covered by the plan bought. Below are your options, though there may be other products on the market worth considering. In all cases, it is important to review all plans carefully as there are certain restrictions, exclusions and limitations that apply to all insurance coverages.

Available to U.S. citizens, most families take advantage of our recommended Tuition and Travel Protection Insurance plan through Student Deluxe - from TravMark.

  • Cancel for Any Reason (CAR):
For a premium of $203 -$285 (for residents of the U.S. except NY State), Student Deluxe offers a 75% tuition refund FOR ANY REASON up to 48 hours before trip departure or a 100% tuition refund if you cancel for a covered reason. “Cancel for any reason” is not a provision offered in the State of NY.
  • Standard:
For a premium of $135 - $190 (for all U.S. residents), the Student Deluxe policy includes 100% tuition refund if you cancel for a covered reason.
In addition, Student Deluxe's insurance policy supplies coverage for travel emergencies specifically diving related medical treatment (hyperbaric chamber treatments), or medical evacuation (low altitude flight). These can be very expensive. An uninsured person will need to pay out of pocket, sometimes upfront, and that could be a problem for the most of us.
